The Entertainers’ Kitchen

Project Overview

This innovative kitchen reflects the personality and lifestyle of its homeowners—thoughtful, unique, and full of clever design details.

Rather than opting for a traditional bump-out addition, the homeowners chose to “bump in” by removing the wall between the kitchen and adjacent dining room. This bold move transformed a cramped and uninspiring space into a beautifully open layout that amplifies their love of cooking, baking, and gathering with family and friends.

At the heart of the new space is a large, multifunctional island—perfect for entertaining, prepping meals, and extra storage. It features open shelving and is illuminated by five elegant pendant lights that add both function and style. The kitchen includes navy blue Custom cabinetry pairs beautifully with a farmhouse sink and a suite of high-end appliances. A custom pull-out step stool is cleverly tucked into the cabinetry to allow easy access to the upper shelves, and a pantry for the homeowners baking essentials was added from her wish list. To meet the demands of a modern, connected household, the design also includes a charging and mail cubby discreetly tucked behind closed doors, keeping devices and cords organized and out of sight. To make the most of the space, a custom built-in banquette provides cozy seating with hidden storage beneath. Finally, a new back door adds natural light into the space and convenient access to the patio and backyard.

The result is a stylish, highly functional kitchen that supports everyday life —from quiet breakfasts to lively dinner parties. It’s a true creative transformation and collaboration, tailor-made for a family that lives fully in their kitchen.
