This homeowner wanted to create an entertainment space that better connected their family. We were tasked with remodeling their basement to create a cozy family room that the whole family could enjoy. This basement was dark, cold and cramped space with an undesirable layout and outdated finishes. The existing utility closet took up most of the usable footprint. The first priority for the clients was to redesign the staircase for a more open, contemporary look. The rest of this project included relocating the water heater and boiler to expand the finished area and adding all new flooring and finishes. We also designed a cabinet space which won a CotY Award for the design and execution of a custom cabinetry unit. The final results of this family friendly living space now welcomes reading, watching movies, and lounging together.
